Last shipment from Le Havre to Mogadishu was recently finished successfully discharging a Gottwald crane in Somali capital Mogadishu. The crane was loaded and shipped as deck from Le Havre (picture) and due to Baltic Winter`s own vessel cranes in tandem operation no problem.
Our two MPP E-types MV Martin and MV Linde were recently in dry dock for 10 year class. All works could be successfully finished in time. A buoy with 315 tonnes was the latest heavy lift done by our P-type vessel Pacific Winter in Penglai. Thanks to the 2 x 400 to cranes and a stability pontoon no problem. Discharging of the buoy was successful in Nghi Son.
A Seacat Catamaran was recently loaded on deck on our MV Thorco Dolphin in Laem Chabang / Thailand. With a weight of around 50 tons no problem for its 2 x 120 NMF cranes in tandem operation. The catamaran is going back to water in Australia.
Coming from Geelong / Australia our BBC Texas needed to get some bunker before crossing the South Pacific going to West Coast South America. A good chance to catch some nice pictures amidst a beuaitful countryside. Next ports in Chile will be Puerto Amagos and Arica.
Laytime in Port Victoria in front of the the beautiful countryside of the Seychelles was recently used for diverse drills and tests. Free fall life boat and rescue boat was tried as well as some fire fighting equipment. All drills were passed successfully and could be dicussed later for further safety improvements. Loaded with plant covers in Turkey, so called "pancakes", our MV Thorco Winter is heading towards Brasil now. Total deck cargo is about 3000 tonnes. Loading, stowing and lashing of the over dimensioned industry caps (biggest ones measure more than 33 x 22 meters) was challenging and needed good preparation and caution during loading operation.
