Laytime in Port Victoria in front of the the beautiful countryside of the Seychelles was recently used for diverse drills and tests. Loaded with plant covers in Turkey, so called "pancakes", our MV Thorco Winter is heading towards Brasil now. Total deck cargo is about 3000 tonnes. Loading, stowing and lashing of the over dimensioned industry caps (biggest ones measure more than 33 x 22 meters) was challenging and needed good preparation and caution during loading operation.

Our Nordana Emilie has recently loaded three RTGs in Hong Kong and is on the way to Sohar now. With a weight of more than 500 tons and vast dimensions this cargo is also a challenge for the crew and captain due to limited visibility from the bridge. We wish a good and safe trip.

Six container bridges – so called Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTG) – are presently on the way from China to South America on our Heavy Lift Vessel Pacific Winter.

Our container vessel Yamuna was recently in Singapore for finishing 5-year-class. After one week in shipyard / drydock all necessary works, surveys, repairs and paintings could be successfully finished and the vessel went back into container trade between Spore - Port Kelang and Calcutta. Heading southbound MV Thorco Amber faced heavy weather in Bay of Biscay in February this year. Deck cargo was not loaded so that the vessel could perform its voyage from Hamburg and luckily arrived Bilbao six long and shaking days later heading further to South America.

Components for industrial plants are regularly shipped on board Rickmers-Linie’s heavy lift multi-purpose vessels, supporting supply chains for a wide range of industries.
